2 Shift Patterns either 8am til 4pm or 9am til 5pm ( The coroners Service is a customer focused and therefore flexi time is limited and subject to service needs)          

To deliver a high quality, modern and responsive coronial service.  To support HM Coroner in taking reports of deaths, investigating causes of death and convening inquests in accordance with the Coroners & Justice Act 2009.

To support HM Coroner and HM Assistant Coroners, the Head of Service and Practice manager in delivering a responsive, professional and robust service.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Proven successful office experience in a high pressured and sensitive environment and able to produce neat, clear and accurate work and have good numeracy skills.

- Ability to deliver customer service to the highest possible standard and be able to deal sensitively with difficult, complex and sometimes distressing information in a calm and professional manner either personally, verbally or in writing.

- Ability to apply complex medical terms and discuss with professional stakeholders and bereaved families in a professional and understanding manner.

- Confident in abilty to make decisions without supervision, relying on own judgement, technical skills & knowledge

To support Individual Adopters and Special Guardians who are facing difficulties in their placements. To undertake Birth Records Counselling.  To provide training on Post Placement issues.  To provide advice and guidance to Social Workers about the Adoption Support Fund – Pre Order and Post Order. To provide advice and guidance on Post Placement and Post Order issues to the Service. To support students on placement with the team. To support Adopters and Special Guardians in support groups run by the Service 

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

- Working under pressure (dealing with a heavy workload and citizens in stressful situations)

- Assessing risk and needs of children and families

- Child Protection (In depth Knowledge of policies and procedures)

- Experience of implementing therapeutic interventions
