There are two posts available 1 x FT 37hr and 0.5 x part time 18.5

• To work to ensure that the physical, emotional and identified primary care needs of young people are met through the development and maintenance of a supportive and caring environment

• To establish positive relationships with the young people,

• To communicate professionally and effectively with children and families, other team members, professionals from statutory or voluntary sectors and other agencies.

• To contribute to all Unit recording procedures, with particular reference to the maintenance of casework files. To assist the Manager in the production of reports and correspondence to a high professional standard as required.

• To be responsible for the coordination of a shift in the absence of more senior staff. (This would be as designated by Management but applies to staff who have completed NVQ3 or the Diploma 3 or equivalent)

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. An understanding of the Social, Cultural, physical and emotional needs of young people, especially those with autism and or learning physical disabilities

2. Ability to support and facilitate individual or groups of young people in appropriately accessing leisure and social opportunities and working towards developing personal and social skills.

3. Ability to contribute to the assessment, planning, implementation and monitoring of individual care programmes for young people in key-working or co-working capacity.

4. Ability to work in partnership, and maintain professional relationship with young people, their families and relevant others.

This job requires Enhanced DBS Check with Children & Adults Barring List Check (regulated activity with Children & Adults).

Shift work early and lates. Work every other weekend. Some sleep in’s required.

We are seeking to recruit a Family Support Practice Specialist to join our Targeted Family Support Team. The post holder will have extensive experience of working with children and families and will be a qualified and registered Social Worker. They will be responsible for supporting the planning, coordination and delivery of effective targeted family support services for children, young people and families with a range of complex problems.

The post holder will primarily be responsible for the case supervision of Family Support Workers to ensure high standards of practice in safeguarding, management of risk, and the use of effective interventions to support families with complex and extensive needs. They will make decisions and provide support and advice on the team’s case work, working innovatively and collaboratively with other locally-based services to reduce the level of need and risk working towards needs being met by universal services. Working closely with the Targeted Family Support Manager they will be responsible for driving service improvement and implementing new policies, procedures and approaches.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

- The post holder is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination and delivery of effective targeted family support services for vulnerable children, young people and families with a range of complex problems, including social, emotional and behavioural, domestic violence and parenting

- The post holder will primarily be responsible for the case supervision of Family Support Workers to ensure high standards of practice in safeguarding, management of risk, and the use of effective interventions to support families with complex and extensive needs
