Nottingham to become the UK’s Green Bus Capital

£4.4m has been awarded to Nottingham City Transport to buy 53 Bio-methane fuelled double deckers and to install the fuelling infrastructure at the Parliament Street garage.

Nottingham City Council was also successful in its bid for £920,000, which will fund on-street rapid charging infrastructure.

New focus on Nottingham’s neighbourhoods to bring business and jobs

A new Regeneration Strategy aimed at bringing jobs and housing to Nottingham’s local neighbourhoods has been launched by the City Council.

Maintaining investment for neighbourhoods, sustainable job creation, support for small businesses, building homes and great community spaces are at the heart of the plan.

Free fitness and tennis at Nottingham Tennis Centre this weekend

Councillor Dave Trimble – Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Culture, Nottingham City Council has said:  “Come down to Nottingham Tennis Centre this weekend  and take the opportunity to enjoy the British Open Wheelchair Championships while having a chance to play tennis or use the fitness facilities for free."
