The City Councils in Derby and Nottingham have come together to develop a Metropolitan strategy which is launched for consultation.

The new strategy sets out a bold joint vision that by ‘2030 Derby & Nottingham will have a global reputation as an exciting place to live, work and play.’

Another step towards the transformation of Nottingham Castle

Nottingham Castle Trust has been selected as the ‘Preferred Partner Concessionaire’ for the future management and operation of Nottingham Castle, it can be announced. It is the latest important step on the journey towards the transformation of Nottingham Castle into a world-class visitor destination.

Nottingham’s annual road maintenance programme set to start

The City Council is committed to investing in road maintenance to improve the city’s Neighbourhoods. To help achieve this our Highways team will be starting a two week programme of road maintenance works today (25 July). In total, work will be carried out on 18 Nottingham streets, at a cost of £240,000.

Council announces winners of Smokefree Summer poster competition

The winning designs have been chosen in Nottingham City Council’s poster competition to promote its Smokefree Summer.

Six winners have been selected from four city schools and their designs will now be turned into large, eye-catching posters to advertise family events over the coming days and weeks where smokers will be asked not to light up.

These will include the The Deliveroo Beach in Old Market Square, and the BMI Park Hospital Nottingham Riverside Festival on Victoria Embankment, where thousands of people will see them.
