Fixed Term – 12 months The post holder will be responsible for providing a full range of cost management and quantity surveying services, on a variety of projects, working with multi-disciplinary in-house / external teams toward the safe and successful completion and management of projects and programmes of work. Responsibilities include; Providing full and detailed Quantity Surveying information in connection with financial, fee and contract management; production and management of service wide KPIs and budget forecasts; contractor performance reviews; monthly financial reports; liaison with design, construction and supply chain teams to capture, analyse and control cost; manage early warnings and change control; negotiating and assessing tenders; preparation of project cost, fee monitoring & value reports; assisting in the preparation and agreement of applications for payment. ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: 1. Several years post qualification experience as a practising Quantity Surveyor, pre and post contract, in connection with a wide variety of capital/revenue based projects and programmes, including working knowledge on a range of contracts including; JCT/NEC3/Framework Agreements. 2. Essential experience in; feasibility cost estimates/production of tender documentation/cost analysis, preparation of Bill of Quantities, fee monitoring & management/contractual management/estimating and cost planning activities/NRM/specifications/VE and life cycle costing. 3. Excellent communication –oral and written, numeric and computer skills, with an ability to skilfully negotiate in a range of circumstances, in particular contractual situations. A high level of self-motivation. 4. Knowledge equivalent to that gained in training to achieve membership of the RICS as demonstrated by work carried out in previous employment. Split Shift, Term Time only Passenger Transport Service is a fast expanding service providing quality transport to the most vulnerable citizens of Nottingham. Having doubled in size in the last 2 years, more opportunities have become available immediately for both drivers and escorts starting at the end of August. We care looking for people with experience in the caring sector to join us. Rates of pay are the highest in the sector (£9 per hour driver and £8 for escorts, approx) and training is provided. The service works on split shifts transporting children to and from school, from home in the morning and then returning in the afternoon to take them home. Drivers need the D1/D qualification to enable them to drive large 16 seater wheelchair accessible vehicle. An enhanced DBS is required. Hours range from 22 per week for Drivers and 20 per week for Escorts both term time only contracts. Supporting team members in their roles under CDM 2015, as necessary ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: 1. Degree or equivalent qualification within a related discipline. High level of knowledge and experience across a range of specialist disciplines, including; Architecture/Structural/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering/Landscape Design/Asbestos and Fire regulatory requirements 2. Experience in the application of Project Management techniques to enable monitoring and control of multiple programmes and projects to ensure successful delivery of projects on time, budget and quality. 3. Experience of business planning, fee and finance/budget management, performance management, procurement procedures/contract/commissioning processes, quality management systems/good practice 4. Excellent communication –oral/written/numeric and computer skills, with an ability to skilfully negotiate in a range of circumstances. A high level of self-motivation.
