Midlands Engine revs up to bring more jobs and growth to the region

A new Midlands investment hub, overseas trade missions and extra government funding will see the Midlands Engine firing on all cylinders.

Addressing business leaders and decision makers at the Midlands Engine Summit on Monday (4 July), Business Minister Anna Soubry announced further support to boost growth in the region and help the Midlands Engine realise its vision and bring 300,000 jobs and £34 billion to the UK economy.

October Festival

Budding film-makers invited to take part in international festival in Nottingham

Would-be directors, students or anyone with a mobile phone and a passion for film are being invited to submit short films for an international microfilm festival to be held in October when Nottingham becomes the UK’s Festival City.

The deadline for submission of short films for the second Nottingham International Microfilm Festival has been extended to Friday 15 July.

Sycamore

Nottingham school celebrates Chinese twinning

A primary academy in St Ann’s is celebrating after being twinned with a Chinese school and establishing a very positive link.

Sycamore Academy, which is part of the L.E.A.D. Academy trust, will play host to 25 pupils, the principal and two teachers from the Jiaochuan (COR) Central Primary school in the Zhenhai District of Ningbo City this week (4 to 8 July 2016) where both schools will sign the official partnership document.
