Fixed Term – 12 months

Nottingham City Council is looking for a enthusiastic individual to work with Children in Care who are accommodated within Children’s homes across Nottingham City. To ensure that the physical, emotional, cultural, religious, educational and psychological needs of children accommodated are assessed and met with robust Care Planning. To support children and young people who have a rehabilitation plan to return to family/carers. To work with young people who are transitioning into adulthood within the Homes and as they move to live semi-independently/independently.

Main duties include:

• Shift Work,

• Working directly with young people who have learning disabilities and Autistic Spectrum Disorder.

• Personal Care duties - day to day responsibilities of maintaining the unit to an acceptable standard.

• Requirement to complete training and enhance personal development.

• To administer medication to children.

• To use and seek supervision to promote development.

Essential requirements:

• Understanding Social Care and its relationships to provision offered to children and their families.

• Ability to communicate at all levels, work on own initiative or as part of a team.

• Flexibility

• Willing to undertake a Children and Young Peoples Workforce level 3 or equivalent, appropriate to perform your duties.

Fixed Term for 3 years

We are seeking a highly competent individual with a range of project leadership, management and development experience to take a leading role in promoting housing delivery in Nottingham. The successful candidate will need to have a track record in delivering housing regeneration and be able to take the client or ‘project owner’ role when leading significant projects. We are looking for a candidate with a wide strategic understanding of the issues affecting housing development and affordable housing including the impact of changes in legislation and Government priorities.

This role will put you at heart of a busy team of dedicated officers focused on achieving corporate priorities, leaving a lasting legacy of improvement in terms of physical development and enhanced facilities for citizens. The ability to facilitate excellent working relationships with our ALMO Nottingham City Homes and with other development partners will be essential.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. This post requires an individual with strong leadership skills who is capable of managing a team of officers and assist in shaping service delivery.

2. The successful candidate will be expected to provide advice and insight to unlock development and attract funding as well as supporting team members in their professional development.

3. Applicants should be excellent communicators and negotiators. The job will bring you into contact with senior Council Officers and Executive Councillors as well as a wide range of external partners, so you will need to demonstrate a proven track record in building relationships whilst promoting the Council’s aims and interests. Located in the Development Department, the Regeneration Service works in close partnership with other sections of the Council.

4. The successful candidate will need to understand development viability and finance in order to produce robust business cases to inform decision making.
