All roads lead to Nottingham in June for planners of the UK’s transport future

June is a very busy month in Nottingham for transport planners, businesses and groups interested in creating greener, more joined up transport services.

Three separate events are being hosted by the City Council with partners to show how transport can be planned to take advantage of technological and sustainable innovations, with ideas such as smart ticketing and low carbon transport which are already being pioneered here in Nottingham.

The events are the:-

  • Go Ultra Low Cities forum on 16 June (first ever)
  • Intermodal conference on 20-21 June

Businesses urged to get involved in Ultra Low Emission Vehicle forum

Nottingham City Council and its partners have been successful in securing part of a £6m fund through central government’s Go Ultra Low City Scheme.

There is now an opportunity to attend the first Go Ultra Low Cities forum, on Thursday 16th June 2016 between 11.30am and 2pm, in Nottingham City Centre. The forum marks the start of many free engagement activities with the public and businesses to discuss the wide reaching proposals that form the region’s Go Ultra Low City programme.

This lunchtime forum will provide opportunities for involvement in this exciting programme, which will see Nottingham and the region take great strides towards becoming an exemplar for ultra low emission vehicles, including private cars, vans, buses, taxis and commercial fleets.
