Are
you a private tenant in Nottingham?
Nottingham City Council is considering a new scheme to
improve privately rented housing in the city.
The introduction of a citywide licensing scheme for all private rented
accommodation to drive up standards and protect
tenants across the city is a key objective in the current Council Plan
for 2015-2019.
Once we have
developed a proposed scheme, we will be consulting formally. At this stage we want to find out what issues
are faced by private landlords and tenants, explore what impact a scheme could
have on the City and investigate what the scheme could look like.
We are holding two focus
groups for private tenants in the City. The
dates and times for these groups are:
Tuesday 14th June
11:30am – 1pm
And
Tuesday 21st June
5:30pm – 7pm.
Both sessions will
be held at Loxley House, Station Street, Nottingham, NG2 3NG.
Refreshments will be
provided.
To express an
interest in taking part, please email selective.licensing@nottinghamcity.gov.uk by 5pm on Tuesday 7th June
advising which of the dates you wish to attend.
Please can you also let us know which area of the City you live in and
whether your household is single person, couple or family as we want to try to
involve citizens from across the City and from different types of households.
Please note, due to restrictions with the room, unfortunately we will not
be able to accommodate anyone who turns up speculatively on the day.
