This is a part-time permanent position working 12 hours per week to provide a cleaner caretaking service for the museum service.

Certain Nottingham City Council roles that are advertised carry a Residency requirement, this means that in order for you to apply for this role you must live within the Nottingham City Council Administrative Boundary.

Nottingham City Council works closely with Nottinghamshire Police through its Community Protection Directorate and many staff are co-located.  The Community Cohesion Service within Community Protection works in partnership to increase cohesion and has dedicated community relations, student and university relations, hate crime reduction as well as a multi-agency street gang’s team. 

This new post is offered initially for 12 months but may be extended depending on funding and is managed by the Specialist Projects Manager (Steve Harrison) in Cohesion Service, Community Protection.

The role will complement the work of the Community Relations Team in supporting the Councils’ community cohesion agenda but will focus on building community trust and confidence to support TWO work streams:

• preventing violent extremism

• preventing serious and organised crime.

Applicants should have experience of listening to, engaging with and supporting communities as well as the ability to problem solve.  An understanding of diversity is essential. The two work streams are influenced by the national Counter-Terrorism Strategy and the Serious and Organised Crime Strategy details of both can be found on the Home Office website. 

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Experience and skills in effective community engagement

2. Experience of working with minority communities, young people and people who exhibit challenging behaviours

3. Evidence of initiative in delivering agreed outcomes within agreed timescales

4. Evidence of a good understanding of risk and the implications for the service of your own decisions and actions

To assist the Assistant Catering Manager to organise, provide and oversee the highest quality café and catering private hire facilities for the heritage sites as required.

This would include an active role in the preparation and service of food and beverages.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Experience in Catering

2. Ability to understand and meet all current hygiene regulations

3. Ability to act as a licensee and comply with all statutory legal requirements

4. Experience of supervising a team of employees

To investigate and respond to queries in relation to Penalty Charge and Fixed Penalty Notices either by telephone or in writing including preparing criminal prosecution files and case histories.

Present evidence in person at Traffic Penalty Tribunal hearings or give evidence in court as appropriate.

Liaise with relevant officers in respect of witness statements and verify accuracy of details of PCN/FPN's to enforce payment.

Carrying out cash receipting and banking of monies received.

To work as part of a team putting team preferences before own.

Working in a confidential environment

To be able to learn about a subject in a short period of time from a position of zero knowledge

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Ability to communicate to a high standard both verbally and in writing dealing with contentious issues and irate citizens.

2. Good IT skills and the ability to quickly learn how to use specialist in house software.

3. Ability to work on own personal initiative and with minimum supervision working accurately to meet deadlines.

4. Strong self-motivation together with a flexible and committed approach to work.
