We are looking for a Public Health specialist with particular interest in assessment and analysis of health and social care need to lead on the city’s Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA). You will work to ensure the delivery of the JSNA and its use across health and social care partners. The role will entail working with partners in the leadership and project management of the JSNA. You will require skills to interpret and critique intelligence from a wide range of sources in order to deliver high quality needs assessments. In addition to leading on the JSNA you will also work with public health colleagues to contribute to delivery of health care public health and healthy lifestyles agendas. This will include public health analysis and commissioning, policy and strategy development.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

- To undertake technical quantitative and qualitative public health analysis including health needs assessments, production of joint strategic needs assessment chapters, health impact assessments and health equity audits in conjunction with partners.

- To assess the evidence of effectiveness of health and wellbeing interventions, programmes and services to inform commissioning and strategy and service reviews.

- To collaborate with partner organisations to ensure the delivery of public health targets and agreed joint targets and goals for specified lead areas.

- To support and contribute to strategy development, interpretation and implementation of national policy for identified specialist health improvement areas

We are looking for two enthusiastic and experienced Solicitors or Barristers to join our busy team.

You will be responsible for providing advice and support to the Council’s Children and Adults Directorate. The work is extremely varied and will involve care proceedings, adoption and fostering and general child protection. You may also be asked to advise on adult social care matters.

You will be responsible for most of the advocacy on your cases in the Family Court and demonstrate excellent communication, analytical and drafting skills.

Whilst working on your own caseload, you will also be expected to contribute to the team and be an effective team player.
