From 1st July
2015, the Prevent Duty came into force and all childcare providers must have regard
to prevent people being drawn into terrorism. The Early Years Foundation Stagestatutory requirement 3.4 - Child Protection, already states that ‘Providers must be alert to any
issues for concern in a child’s life at home or elsewhere. Providers must have
and implement a policy; and procedures to safeguard children’. Ofsted will now be asking providers as part of their
inspections how they meet this duty.
On line

£1.8m investment for St Ann's & Arboretum children
Today
we’re seeing ‘parent-powered change’ in action. Small Steps Big Changes are pleased to announce, that £1.8m will soon
be invested in St Ann’s and Arboretum to deliver an innovative new ‘Family
Mentor’ service for babies and toddlers.
Led by Nottingham CityCare Partnership, Small Steps Big Changes
(SSBC) is a Big Lottery funded initiative designed to give every child the best
start in life.
Two year olds are competent and active
learners. The environments we provide must acknowledge and support
the importance of movement and action for learning and development. The drive to
‘do it myself’ means they will also require a space which is predictable - so that
they feel safe and secure and confident to try things out – but also enabling, feeding their
desire to explore and experiment with a range of stimulating, open ended resources and
activities.
Day 1: Monday 6th June 2016 Day 2: Monday 13th June 2016
Giving practitioners the inspiration
and ideas they need to make outdoor play at their setting truly
magical this course helps settings achieve The EYFS Statutory Framework recommendations for
50% of play at a setting to be outdoor through a series of imaginative
activities and techniques to maximise the outdoor environment.
‘Providers must be confident that those responsible
for preparing and handling food are competent to
do so. In group provision, all staff involved in the
preparing and handling food must receive training
in food hygiene.’
On completion of this course you will receive a certificate detailing the course content.
The training provider is registered to deliver the Chartered Institute of Environmental
Health (CIEH) approved Food Safety course. However the session above is not CIEH
accredited.
