Today's Forecast

Sunny spells and scattered showers at first this afternoon, these becoming increasingly widespread and heavy with hail, sleet and possibly even snow in the heaviest showers. The main focus of the heaviest showers is expected to occur between 1500 UTC and 1900 UTC. Where heavy showers of hail occur, it is possible that RSTs will rapidly fall, perhaps getting close to freezing very briefly, before quickly recovering in the sunnier intervals. There is a moderate risk of some of the showers this afternoon falling as sleet or wet snow, although no accumulations are expected. However, any heavy hail showers may leave brief localised accumulations before quickly melting again.

Showers becoming less frequent by late evening, however a few isolated showers may continue until around 0000 UTC. Mostly dry thereafter overnight with clear periods and RSTs falling down to around or just below freezing. Most roads will become dry, however there is a low risk of some isolated icy patches where roads have not dried out from earlier showers. Mostly dry on Thursday morning with sunny spells and a low risk of a passing shower.

Isolated light showers dying out later in the afternoon. Dry overnight with clear spells and light winds but turning cloudier and windy with rain Sunday persistent for much of the afternoon and evening clearing east but staying cloudy with isolated showers overnight.
