We have numerous vacancies at various sites and with various hours. The majority of posts start early mornings (6am) or (3:30pm) afternoons and are based in Council Buildings and Schools.

To undertake the cleaning of various buildings using the necessary chemicals and equipment. To carry out a range of cleaning duties, including sweeping, vacuum cleaning, floor polishing, dusting, mopping, maintaining sanitary items, etc. To comply with legislation, Council procedures and safe working practices, after training. To work on own initiative, unsupervised whilst carrying out their duties.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Basic understanding of different cleaning methods and equipment.

- Ability to carry a range of cleaning duties, including using different equipment and materials safety.

- Basic awareness of Health and Safety.

- A flexible attitude to work duties and location.

Certain Nottingham City Council roles that are advertised carry a Residency Requirement, this means that in order for you to apply for this role you must live within the Nottingham City Council Administrative Boundary.

As a HGV Fitter/Mechanic you would maintain, inspect, repair and test the City Councils and external customers’ vehicles and equipment to prescribed standards in accordance with the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency guide lines, manufacturer standards and the Councils Operator licence conditions.

The positions will be based at, Eastcroft Depot- London Road Nottingham. Flexibility of working hours is vital to our customer expectations and meeting service delivery targets. We require staff to work an extended day on shifts or nights (Plus allowances)

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

- We are looking for applicants with substantial experience of working in a Commercial or the Public Sector vehicles, and are qualified to the minimum NVQ3/City & Guilds or equivalent standards. MOT tester qualification would be an advantage.

- A current driving licence is essential, with an LGV category C preferred.

- The applicants must demonstrate knowledge of working on a wide range of vehicles, working on their own initiative to manufactures times, completing and operating maintenance systems both written and electronically.

- Attend additional training courses, work shifts and overtime.

- You may also be required to participate in the out of hours call out rota.

We require Streetscene operatives (on a 6 month fixed term contract) to provide a range of gardening, grounds maintenance, refuse, recycling and cleansing duties throughout the City in order to maintain the environment, buildings and facilities which make Nottingham the cleanest city.

To operate flexibly across a range of frontline services depending on service needs. This will include street cleaning, grounds maintenance, refuse collection, recycling and other Neighbourhood Services such as support to highways’ services during inclement weather to achieve our public realm duties.

To deliver a safe, efficient and effective operational service to create a clean, safe and green environment delivered through Neighbourhood Services. 

Essential Requirements

• Knowledge and experience of grounds maintenance

• Have a flexible attitude to work and be prepared to work shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public bank holidays in any area of the city

• Knowledge of the safe operation of a range of hand and powered tools. 

• Knowledge of general gardening techniques including grass and border maintenance.

• Ability to work with and carry materials of an unpleasant nature

Successful applicants must be able to work from Eastcroft Depot, London Road, Nottingham NG2 3AH.

Your annual salary will be paid in arrears in 7 equal monthly instalments.  Your annual salary will be within Band C (£13,871 - £15,207 subject to pay award and living wage supplement) plus enhancements for any unsociable hours and weekend working.

• Ability to work with and carry materials of an unpleasant nature

Successful applicants must be able to work from Eastcroft Depot, London Road, Nottingham NG2 3AH.

Your annual salary will be paid in arrears in 7 equal monthly instalments.  Your annual salary will be within Band C (£15,523 - £16,969 subject to pay award) plus enhancements for any unsociable hours and weekend working.
