To support the Head of Service and Service Manager in the leadership and management of a multi discipline team to effectively manage, develop and deliver the highway and flooding duties of the City Council. The role is required to manage the investigation of traffic management and flooding matters, to evaluate options that address and resolve issues and develop assets vital to the continued commercial footing of the Service Area, promoting the use existing and new technology to improve the management of the highway network.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

1- Uses an extensive knowledge of traffic and/or flood risk management, to assess options and develop responsive proposals to address complex issues and problems
2 - Demonstrate a commercialised approach to service delivery through workload and rescource planning, ability to investigate, manage, communicate and drive positive service change, to support a zero based budget service
3 - Demonstrate leadership qualities and motivation to develop other to succeed
4 - Develops strong professional relationships with colleagues and acts as an advocate for the service area through constructive and supportive working to deliver shared objectives and the aspirations of local communities
