Today's Forecast

Sunny spells this afternoon but also occasional showers. These could be heavy at times with a risk of hail and thunder. The showers will continue into the evening but should die out by midnight. The rest of the night will then be dry with clear spells. This will allow roads to fall just below freezing at the end of the night in places, but by this stage most roads should be dry. Dry with sunny spells through Sunday morning.

Outlook for the next four days (forecasts run from midday to midday)
Sunday A sunny afternoon, with a strengthening breeze. However patchy cloud during the evening will thicken overnight, perhaps bringing some light and sporadic outbreaks of rain. This will ensure RSTs remain above freezing.

Monday

Clouds will continue to thicken through Monday afternoon, with a period of persistent, but mostly light rain expected during the evening and overnight. RSTs will remain above freezing.

Tuesday

and

Wednesday

Further occasional outbreaks of rain are likely Tuesday afternoon, before clearing north through the day. Sunny spells will then be followed by clear spells overnight, although milder air should ensure RSTs remain above freezing. However the occasional showery outbreak of rain will remain possible, especially by Wednesday morning. Further patchy cloud and showery outbreaks of rain will then keep RSTs above freezing into Thursday.

Please Note: The colour code used for the headings for these forecast refer to the weather forecast and not the need to grit.

RED - The weather will cause road surface temperatures (RSTs) to fall or stay below zero.
AMBER - The weather may cause road surface temperatures (RSTs) to fall below zero.
