Nottingham Christmas Lights Switch-On
TONIGHT Old Market Square
See Nottingham light up as the Christmas Lights are switched on! Join us from 5:30pm for a fun-filled evening featuring live music, street theatre and entertainment from Gem 106's Sam and Amy. Plus, explore the new Winter Wonderland Christmas Market.
This year, the Christmas lights will be switched on by three deserving schoolchildren from the Arboretum (read more about them here), with a little help from the Panto Dame from Nottingham Playhouse's production of Dick Whittington, plus Sam and Amy, Robin Hood, and Nottingham's Lord Mayor and Sheriff.
Experience the magic of Christmas at Newstead Abbey and Wollaton Hall, with exciting new opportunities to explore these historic buildings at night. Abbey Christmas takes place on 4 Dec from 2pm - 7pm and Wollaton at Christmas takes place on 11 Dec from 5pm - 8pm. Get your tickets on the door.
Christmas Family Fun Day at intu Broadmarsh: Saturday 21 Nov 11am - 4pm
Join intu Broadmarsh this Saturday for the launch of their fantastic Santa's 5D Grotto and family fun day!

A brand new event to add to our fantastic cultural offering in the city, the Nottingham Poetry Festival has kicked off!
More than 30 fantastic poets are appearing at eleven venues across the city. The line-up includes one of the most revered poets of his generation Lemn Sissay MBE, acclaimed Liverpool poet Brian Patten, the “funny and brilliant” Luke Wright and Nottingham collective The Mouthy Poets.
Nottingham's beautiful Victorian dance hall, The Malt Cross, is putting on a series of Christmas workshops to help you learn a new skill and get into the festive spirit:
At performances of Dick Whittington, look out for collections for our Dolly Parton Imagination Library, a charity which provides a free book every month, to every child in Nottingham during their first five years.
