Be a Record Breaker this Saturday!
Calling all children - sign up to this year's Summer Reading Challenge at Nottingham Central Library on Saturday 11 July 10am - 3pm and help set a brand new official Guinness World Record title!
All you have to do is pledge to visit any Nottingham City library and read over the summer. Adults can pledge too to encourage people they know to read with children.
If being a Record Breaker isn't enough we'll have a day packed with FREE fun family activities for you to enjoy:
Join in with dance and drama with Dance4
Be amazed at Word Wizard, Andy Newbound as you create record breaking words
The incredible Johnny and the Raindrops will be performing their greatest hits
Join Loughborough University students to make and race solar powered cars
Create amazing pop up art with artist Creeping Toad
It's all happening at your local library and it's totally FREE. The fun begins on Saturday 11 July and runs until 5 September.
Bring your children down to any city Library to sign up to Record Breakers. Encourage them to read their way through their choice of 6 library books, they can discover weird, wonderful and wacky world records and collect rewards and 'stinky' stickers along the way!
The Summer Reading Challenge is suitable for children aged 4-11 years.

Celebrate our everyday journeys around Clifton.
Take a walk from Clifton Library to the Park and capture patterns, shapes and colours along the way. Bring your own camera or smartphone, or we can supply you with one to capture your story.

We're so excited, July 14 is the release date for the highly anticipated Go Set AWatchman by Harper Lee. The novel will once again introduce us to Scout, now grown up and living in New York; who returns to Maycomb to visit her father Atticus. The novel was written before To Kill a Mockingbird but is just being released.
These books will all be bought for Nottingham City Libraries and can be reserved for 50p
