Dear Colleagues,
I hope you find the information in this edition of EYE useful. As always, please contact me if you need advice or guidance regarding EYFS.
Reminder
The SYMPTOMATIC AND CONFIRMED CASES flowchart for MK schools and settings (PDF) outlines the local process that must be followed for confirmed cases of COVID-19. Please save this flowchart, for future reference, and share it with staff.
Remember, you only need to use the online form to report confirmed cases in staff or children who are attending setting/school. You don’t need to report confirmed cases in staff or children who aren’t accessing setting/school - because they will engage with NHS Track and Trace.
If you have a confirmed case of COVID-19 and you need guidance, please contact me as the Key Education Contact for settings on 01908 254929 or 07586 554279.
If you are unable to contact me, please ring Jenny Bargrove on 01908 254071/254509 or 07557 313537.
Best wishes

Announcements
Please support our Summer of Play
On 9 June we issued a special EYE update about our Summer of Play and the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme. You can learn more by visiting our dedicated webpage: www.milton-keynes.gov.uk/summer-of-play
Please ‘watch this space’ for more details of the offer and remember, the deadline for expressions of interest to deliver activities is midnight on Sunday 20 June.
In the meantime, do start raising awareness of the project with your most vulnerable families. The success of the project rests on the quality of our shared communication with parents/carers and families. By working together we can ensure that the children and young people who need it most are well supported over the summer.

Reception Baseline Assessment (schools)
The Reception Baseline Assessment (RBA) will be statutory from September 2021.
Schools will shortly receive assessment resource packs. This will include important information about how you can prepare for the assessment in the lead up to the summer holidays.
As a reminder, Headteachers have already been sent an email with a link to a short online form. This captures information about your school and gives headteachers the opportunity to nominate an RBA lead to oversee the day-to-day running of the assessment.
If you haven’t already done so, please complete the online form by Friday 18 June.
If your school has not received a link to the online form, or doesn’t receive the delivery by the end of June, please contact the RBA helpline on 0330 088 4171 or email receptionbaseline@nfer.ac.uk

Cyber security threats
In the last few months, the UK National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) have been investigating and responding to further ransomware attacks on the UK’s Education Sector.
Please ensure that you follow the NCSC guidance on ‘Mitigating malware and ransomware.’ The advice details several steps you can take to disrupt ransomware attacks and enable effective recovery from these attacks.
You can also sign up to the NCSC Early Warning service. This free service uses a range of information feeds to notify organisations of malicious activity on submitted domains and IPs. More information, including how to sign up, can be found on the NCSC website.
More information and guidance can be found at:
In addition, Thames Valley Police’s Cyber Protect colleagues (in the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit) offer free Cyber Security webinars for schools via Eventbrite.
