Elections on 6 May 2021
 There will be Local, Parish and Police and Crime Commissioner Elections on the 6 May 2021. There will also be a Neighbourhood Plan Referendum for Stantonbury. These elections were postponed from May 2020 due to COVID-19.
What elections are taking place?
There are elections for all 19 Borough Wards with one vacancy in each ward except for Woughton and Fishermead and Central Milton Keynes which will have 2 vacancies (because of by-elections).

Parish Elections
There are also a number of Parish Councils where elections will be taking place only if they are contested. A full list of Parishes and Parish Wards up for election is available here (PDF, 76KB).
Police and Crime Commissioner Elections
Voters in 41 police force areas in England and Wales (excluding London) will be electing a Police and Crime Commissioner for their force area.
Police and Crime Commissioners (PCCs) are elected representatives who oversee how crime is tackled in a police force area. Their aim is to cut crime and to ensure the police force is effective.

Cherwell District Council (CDC) is the lead authority, and Yvonne Rees, the PARO - Police Area Returning Officer - for the Thames Valley police area, which covers Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.

Registration
 The deadline to register to vote for these elections is midnight on Monday 19 April. If you have already registered to vote, you will be sent a poll card from 29 March. If you are unsure if you are registered to vote you can call Milton Keynes Council on 01908 254706 to check.
Registering to vote is simple and takes less than 5 minutes. You’ll need your National Insurance number. Apply to register online at: www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.
Postal Voting Dates
The final deadline to apply for a postal vote is Tuesday 20 April (5pm). For those that have successfully applied before 8 April early postal votes will be sent from 19 April. Final postal votes will be sent from 26 April. Details of how to apply are available here.
Proxy Voting Dates
The final deadline to apply to appoint a proxy is Tuesday 27 April (5pm). The person you appoint as a proxy will need to go to your allocated polling station to vote, or apply for a postal vote before 20 April. Details of how to apply to appoint a proxy are available here.
