By the end of January, the plan is to have a vaccination centre within 10 miles of everyone. This will include mobile centres.
There are three types of vaccination site in England:
- 206 active hospital hub sites.
- Around 1,200 local vaccination centres including GP surgeries, clinics, chemists and mobile centres.
- 50 other vaccination centres are planned including seven large-scale venues, such as football stadiums which opened on 10 January.
There are now 80,000 people on a ‘vaccination workforce’ which includes retired medics, pharmacists, the armed services and volunteers from the St. John Ambulance brigade.
The government have brought out a Vaccination Roll Out Plan which has four parts:
- Supply
- Prioritisation
- Places
- People
You can read the plan here: Vaccine Delivery Plan.
On 14 January and then on a weekly basis a detailed breakdown of vaccinations in England, including by region will be published and updates given in the Champion weekly bulletins.
