Feasibility study submissions
Feasibility study applications are due to be available on eRAP from the end of September. This new process will bring added features to the already successful and familiar process for protocol applications.
Applicants will be able to:
- submit post approval amendments to their feasibility studies
- receive review feedback for amendments instead of fully resubmitting an application
- produce a PDF of the feasibility study application
Once this update is live, we will no longer be accepting feasibility study submissions using the Word form process. Linked data requests for feasibility studies will also be available through eRAP.
Please contact enquiries@cprd.com if you have any questions.

National data opt-outs
All organisations in England that share patient data for reasons beyond the direct care of patients had to comply with national data opt-out requirements from 31 July 2022.
The opt-outs are being applied by the GP system suppliers. While prospective data on opt-outs will stop flowing to CPRD once GP system suppliers are notified, we anticipate that there will be a lag of up to six weeks before the historic records for opted-out patients are removed from the CPRD primary care databases, resulting in some patients with incomplete records.
For currently contributing practices, we would advise researchers to limit the end of their study period to at least six weeks prior to the build release date to ensure complete data is available for their study population, or consider a sensitivity analysis to verify this. For example, when using data from the September 2022 build (data up to the end of August 2022), researchers should limit their study period to 15/07/2022.
We anticipate that this will have negligible impact on most CPRD research studies.
Please note that we will only remove opted-out patients and their historic data from prospective builds and will not be applying the opt-outs retrospectively to archived builds to facilitate research reproducibility.
Please contact CPRD Enquiries (enquiries@cprd.com) if you have further questions.

The study aimed to determine symptoms associated with COVID beyond 12 weeks in non-hospitalised adults and the risk factors associated with developing persistent symptoms. Come along to hear their experience of using CPRD Aurum data, including propensity score matching and over 100 outcomes.
The half hour presentation will be followed by a Q&A session.
When: Friday 30 September 2022, 2pm to 3pm (BST)
