Share your feedback for the Local Skills Improvement Plan to help shape the skills and recruitment support available for businesses. The Local Skills Improvement Plan (LSIP) is a DfE funded project, designed to give local areas more say and control in how skills and recruitment are supported. It will bring together key stakeholders such as businesses and training providers to set out key priorities and changes needed in the area to ensure post-16 technical education and training prepares employees better for work.

The deadline for inclusion in the new District Discount book is coming up at the end of the month.
How it works: • Pay £5 per voucher/discount you wish to promote in the book which includes a logo and/or photo of your choice. • Up to 200 vouchers/discounts will be included in the book and are available for six months. • 5000 books will go on sale online and in stores at a low cost of £1.
Benefits to your business: • Low-cost advertising. • Promote your business to up to 5000 households for as little as £5. • Generate footfall, new customers and sales. • Opportunity for your business to sell the books and retain some of the costs.

Following on from the success of the QuickPitch22 event, the Enterprising Worcestershire team and the University of Worcester have announced they are hosting an even bigger pitching event on 28 March at the Worcester Arena. Pre-start businesses and those trading for up to 12 months will get the opportunity to pitch their business idea to a small judging panel of local business experts and in front of a supportive entrepreneurial community. It is free to enter and there is a prize for the winner!

The Enterprising Worcestershire awards are a celebration of the extraordinary talent in the region that has been supported by the Enterprising Worcestershire Project since July 2020. There are six different categories available to enter. Entry is open to all businesses who have accessed support through the Enterprising Worcestershire programme since July 2020 with the exception to one award, the ‘Champion for Entrepreneurs’.
If you have supported, guided, mentored a start-up business or entrepreneur in Worcestershire over the last two years, this award is to recognise your hard work. Find out more about this award here. Applications are now open to be considered in this annual celebration of businesses across Herefordshire and Worcestershire. There are 16 different awards up for grabs and businesses can self-nominate or be nominated by another business. Categories include Employer of the Year, Excellence in Sustainability and Health and Wellbeing in the Workplace.
Becoming a finalist or winning one of these awards can be great for brand exposure and provides a boost to staff morale. The awards will take place at Worcester Arena on 15 June 2023.

Worcestershire SMEs are being urged to apply for grant funding and fully funded assessments to support low carbon projects across Worcestershire.
The Low Carbon Opportunities Programme (LOCOP) supports businesses in the Clean Technology Innovation sector or those who want to diversify into this area through the development of low carbon technologies.
Examples of Low Carbon Innovation projects LOCOP supports could include the development of a low carbon product or service; commercialisation or implementation costs; market research and assessment; prototyping, demonstration or testing of new products; and Manufacturing scale up or market rollout.
Funding covers up to 40% of total project costs up to a maximum of £30,0000. Applications are due to close on 31 January.
Are you an SME Manufacturer looking to grow your business? There is still time to access grant funding from the Manufacturing Growth Programme to support the implementation of a business improvement project.

The Governments Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS) provides SME businesses support with the cost of installing electric vehicle charging points, you could get 75% of costs covered, up to £350 per socket.

The aim of the event is to support tourism businesses in creating bookable experiences. Topics including routes to markets, distribution, and marketing will be covered.

Is your business involved in capturing, monitoring and/or analysing mobile phone coverage and services? Worcestershire County Council (WCC) is holding a market testing event to help understand services that the market can enable to capture, monitor and analyse mobile phone coverage and services.
Excellent mobile phone usage and coverage is a common expectation for most of residents and businesses and WCC recognise the importance of this. The event will be an opportunity to explore options for the future such as new technologies, partnership arrangements or delivery models to inform WCC’s approach to support the development of a procurement strategy/strategies. This will ultimately lead to information that can help the Local Authorities improve mobile phone consumer experiences and coverage.
The event is on Monday 30 January 2023 at County Hall, Worcester. There will also be one-to-one meetings available.
Registration for the next Business Worcestershire Conference, organised by Worcestershire County Council and the Worcestershire Growth Hub, is now open.
The conference, focusing on Marketing and Sales, will take place on 15 March 2023 at Sixways Stadium Worcester, between 8:00am – 1:00pm.
Through thought-provoking discussions and talks, attendees will hear the latest thinking from expert speakers, on digital marketing, branding, relationship management; and data driven decision marketing.
There will also be networking opportunities and time for attendees to learn about the support available to businesses throughout the county.
This event is open to all businesses across the county from Start-ups to SMEs to large-scale corporations.
