In January each year, the Met Office also publishes a forecast of CO2 emissions measured at Mauna Loa Observatory, Hawaii, the site of the longest-running continuous record of atmospheric CO2 concentrations, which were begun in 1958. We will bring you the 2022 forecast in a climate newsletter in January.

To support the business community, we launched an online course 'Climate data for reporting and decision making' in Autumn 2021. High demand means we will be holding more sessions in 2022.
The course is designed for consultants, analysts, or those in similar roles, who wish to be able to confidently use climate data, particularly UKCP18 data, to carry out climate change risk assessments either in-house or on behalf of customers.
Climate data doesn't have to be complex. Our online course gives attendees the clarity and skills to easily access, interpret and communicate climate data with confidence, credibility and impact.
Half day sessions are scheduled to take place on Tuesday 26 April (PM), Wednesday 27 April (PM) and Friday 29 April (AM). Follow us on @MetOfficeB2B for confirmation of these dates and details on how to register.
