Voting closes soon for Governor elections

Thank you to everyone who has voted so far in this year’s Public Governor elections.

If you are an eligible member and haven’t yet voted, there’s still time to have your say - voting closes Friday 18 July 2025.

Mi-Voice will be sending out a reminder email to members who can vote on Monday 14 July 2025, with all the details and the link to take part. Results will be announced shortly after that.

Don’t miss the chance to help shape the future of your hospital.

Mi-Voice is our independent election partner and will be administering the nomination process on behalf of the Trust.

This is just one example of how members can get involved and make a difference.

There are many opportunities for you to have your say, including another right now where we are seeking feedback on how we can improve elective care services.

We're proud to be planning our return to Pride!

We are preparing to join the celebrations at Medway Pride for another year.

Members of our LGBTQIA+ network and other colleagues are hoping to take part in the Medway Pride Parade on Saturday 16 August, marching through Rochester and celebrating the vibrant festival atmosphere.

We can’t wait to celebrate together!

NHS 10 Year Plan published

The Prime Minister recently announced the NHS 10 Year Plan which sets out a new course for the NHS to guarantee its sustainability for generations to come.

This national plan seizes the opportunities provided by new technology, medicines, and innovation to deliver better care for all patients and better value for taxpayers.

Through the Government's three shifts – from hospital to community, from analogue to digital, and from treatment to prevention – it also aims to personalise care, give more power to patients, and ensure that the best of the NHS is available to all.

Community updates

The autism Apprentice CIC are hosting a series of Summer Camp days over July and August. They will be supported by local organisations such as Nurture For All CIC, offering face painting, football coaching, arts and crafts, karaoke and more.

There will be morning and afternoon sessions available at Iwade Village Hall on the following days - July 29, August 5, August 12, August 19, August 26.

Medway Council has launched a new free Medway Alcohol Support Line, to help residents understand their drinking and get practical advice.

The confidential service offers six one hour sessions to explore drinking habits, set goals, and learn reduction strategies. Around 20 percent of Medway adults drink more than the recommended 14 units a week. Residents aged 18+ can self refer or be referred by a GP or health professional.

Organ donation is the gift of life.

Grab some time to talk about it today with loved ones and add your decision on the NHS Organ Donor Register.

This is the official record which specialist nurses check if a person dies in circumstances where organ donation is possible, so it’s important to register your decisions here and share them with the people you love.
