Patient First from day one!
Patient First itself came under the Spotlight on 15 August, when the Transformation Team shared how new starters now receive introductory training on the improvement system as part of the Trust induction.
More than 170 colleagues from at least 50 different roles were trained at induction throughout June and July and numbers for August are increasing further. This approach means staff are engaged with Patient First as soon as they join us, which sets a positive starting point for their onward improvement journey.
Feedback has been encouraging, with an average positive response rate of 4.7 out of five from more than 95 per cent of attendees.

At the Spotlight on 15 August, we welcomed a group of sixth form/A Level students from the UCAS Medical Observation/Shadowing placements, who were spending a week with the Trust as they are interested in applying to medical school.
Also attending, but separately to this group, was a T Level student who first came to a Spotlight back in July and found it so interesting and valuable, he took time out of his summer break to attend again this month, which is fantastic to hear!
