The highly anticipated Summer Fun Day is back!
We’d like to invite you to join us for our third Summer Fun Day on Friday 2 August.
It’s being held on the Education Centre green, opposite the Emergency Department at Medway Maritime Hospital between 11am and 2pm.
This year, we have an array of fun activities planned in collaboration with the fantastic charities that support us, including the The Medway Hospital Charity, Medway League of Friends and The Oliver Fisher Special Care Baby Trust.
Highlights include:
- Meet our amazing charities
- Tombola
- Cakes
- Pre-loved toys and bric-a-brac for sale
- Arts and crafts
- Music from Hospital Radio Medway
- Entertainment from the All Star Performers
The Trust is so grateful for the amazing work our charities do to support patients, staff and volunteers. So why not bring the whole family along and enjoy a fantastic day out while making a difference?

We’re joining Medway Pride again this summer! |
|
As an inclusive employer and healthcare provide, we're delighted to be joining the Medway Pride Parade once again on Saturday 17 August! 🏳️🌈
The Pride Parade will take place along Rochester High Street. Members of our LGBTQI+ staff network will be taking part, soaking up the vibrant, festival atmosphere!
The parade starts at 10.45am from Star Hill and continues through the heart of Rochester via the High Street, along Boley Hill, Castle Hill and into the Castle Gardens.
You don’t need a ticket to watch the parade along the High Street; so come along, have some fun and show your support for our LGBTQI+ community,
Last year was the first time we had joined Pride and as our photo shows, we had great fun, and we can't wait to do it all again this year! See you there!

Our new Governors get straight to work |
|
Following elections earlier this year, nine new Public Governors and four new Staff Governors began their terms on 1 July. Four existing Governors were also re-elected and began their second term at the same time.
New Governors have been finding out more about the Trust in their induction and have already got involved in a number of activities and events.
Tess Fenn, one of our new Swale Public Governors, attended the annual NHS Providers’ ‘Governor Focus Conference’ on 9 July, which gives Governors from across the country an opportunity to meet and share ideas.
On the same day, our Lead Governor David Brake attended the Trust’s Patient First Conference, held at Mid Kent College in Gillingham (pictured below). The event celebrated the second anniversary of our improvement programme.
Other Governors are giving feedback on drafts for patient letters, and all Governors have been invited to be part of the judging panel for our annual Research and Innovation Awards.
If you have any queries for our Governors, you can contact us by:

Organ donation is the gift of life.
Grab some time to talk about it today with loved ones and add your decision on the NHS Organ Donor Register.
This is the official record which specialist nurses check if a person dies in circumstances where organ donation is possible, so it’s important to register your decisions here and share them with the people you love.
Recording your decision takes just a couple of minutes online – click here to do it: https://bit.ly/4169cXu |
