Behind the scenes robot visit proves popular |
|
![tour](https://content.govdelivery.com/attachments/fancy_images/UKMEDNHSFT/2024/06/9587845/5509076/img-20240513-wa0006_crop.jpg) Patients, stakeholders and Trust members were able to see our new pharmacy robot in action at a special event at the hospital on Friday 10 May.
As we launched the Trust’s Clinical Strategy 2024-2027, groups were able to visit our Pharmacy Department and find out how the robot supports dispensing of medicines. We were able showcase some of the advances already made through innovation and technology to transform our services.
This opportunity followed feedback we received from members last year, which told us that members would value invitations to get 'behind the scenes' of the hospital and take part in tours of areas they would not usually get to see. Our thanks to all departments involved in helping make this possible, and we will look at ways in which we can offer further opportunities like this for members in future.
Here's a selection of feedback we received about this event:
"I like the 'behind the scenes' visits which give insight to the hospitals workings."
"Congratulations to all involved for an useful update on the Trust's ambitions going forward."
You can read more about our event on our website.

The Clinical Strategy 2024-27 sets out clearly how we intend to transform the services that we offer patients, using innovation and new technology, to deliver top quality healthcare.
The strategy defines our overall vision, and our aims and ambitions for each of our services and specialties over the next three, five and 10 years.
It explains how we want to make Medway and Swale a place where people are empowered and encouraged to look after themselves and others, with services that are accessible and delivered equally well across the area.
We will refresh the strategy in 18 months to make sure it remains relevant and on track.

Twelve new Public Governors elected by Trust members earlier this year take up post on 1 July 2024. Members voted for their chosen representatives for Medway (eight) and Swale (four) constituencies and staff also elected five new Staff Governors.
We look forward to welcoming our new members to the Council of Governors. Their terms will last for three years.

NHS Kent and Medway wants to hear your views on community healthcare to help shape its plans to improve services across the area.
Thousands of specialist healthcare professionals work across communities in Kent and Medway every day helping people to stay well. This includes physiotherapists helping people with back pain, nurses taking blood and dressing wounds, therapists working with children with disabilities and hospice teams supporting those at the end of their life and their families.
Community health services help adults and children get well and stay well, either in their own home or other out-of-hospital settings near home. They are a critical part of health and care, working closely with general practice and alongside hospitals.
NHS Kent and Medway wants to do better and make sure people are cared for in the right place, at the right time and by the right person.
You can get involved by completing their survey or going along to one of their events. View the full list of services and share your views at Have Your Say.

Organ donation is the gift of life.
Grab some time to talk about it today with loved ones and add your decision on the NHS Organ Donor Register.
This is the official record which specialist nurses check if a person dies in circumstances where organ donation is possible, so it’s important to register your decisions here and share them with the people you love.
Recording your decision takes just a couple of minutes online – click here to do it: https://bit.ly/4169cXu |
