 Maidstone Museum
Based in the heart of Maidstone, Maidstone Museum is home to over 660,000 artifacts and specimens and is perfect for a family day out! It features some internationally significant collections, especially Ethnography, Japanese Decorative Arts, Ancient Egypt, Archaeology and Costume.
Maidstone Museum is very interactive which is perfect for children and allows visitors to travel back in time to explore the myths and legends behind the museum’s collections, have a go at digging fossils or try on some costumes on your way round!
The Museum has a jam-packed schedule for this Summer including Summer Craft Sessions for children, SEND Family Crafts, Steampunk Festival, Festival of Archaeology and more!
The Museum's new exhibition, 'Helping Health - 75 Years of the NHS', started this July. Visit it now and explore the many changes in our healthcare from herbs and blood-letting to keyhole surgery and MRI scans! There will be a key focus on hospitals and their medical staff in Maidstone, with the exhibition exploring what healthcare was like before the NHS was introduced.

Wild About Maidstone Arts Carnival Saturday 15 July
 Come and join this free family fun event in Maidstone Town Centre!
More than 350 people will be taking part including dancers, performers, two Samba bands, local school pupils and participants from community groups. The procession will start in the high street at 2pm, walking through the town into Brenchley Gardens where there will be a finale event with music from 2.45pm until 5.30pm.
