Mote Park Cafe Opens its Doors
MBC is delighted to announce that the new Mote Park Café is now open to the public.
The new building is situated in the perfect spot for those who want to sit and enjoy a bite to eat whilst taking in some of the stunning scenery that the 440 acres of woodland and grassland the park has to offer.
MBC is working with Riverside Catering who will be running the café which will offer an exciting menu of tasty dishes, hot and cold drinks, light bites and snacks. It will be open seven days a week from 9am and closing at dusk. The extensive menu will be rolling out over the next few weeks.
Opening over the busy Easter weekend, there have already been a lot of customers and some great feedback including:
"Great facility, a fantastic addition to Mote Park."
"Looks amazing really well built inside and out. Staff that work there are really friendly."
"Lovely cafe and the people who are running it are so friendly."
Take a look at the CGI concept below and the cafe, now open.

Huzzah for the Medieval Fayre!
Last weekend, the Medieval Fayre took place in Brenchley Gardens and attracted huge crowds that flocked to the park. Visitors watched blacksmith demonstrations, puppet shows and owl flying displays, as well as enjoying A Companye of Strangers music and dancing with children getting the chance to become knights and princesses for the day. There was even a surprise appearance from a dragon who patrolled the town centre!
The Fayre was a great chance to learn about, and engage with, medieval life and work, and was a truly unique and well-received event in the town. The performers thoroughly enjoyed themselves and sent their thanks to Ann-Marie Langley, Arts and Culture Officer, and Gemma Perry, Events Officer, saying:
"Thank you so much for the Maidstone Medieval Fayre opportunity. Everyone attending agreed that this was a well-organised and very satisfying event all round."
"Thank you for booking us for the event. We had a great time with really engaged crowds."
"Many thanks for inviting us, what a lovely venue! We had a great time, lots of lovely audiences, and sunshine! Well done for all your hard work!"

Prepayment meter (PPM) customer experience webform
Citizen Advice Bureau is running a national survey, in partnership with Ofgem, to gather consumer’s experiences of energy prepayment meters.
The survey is asking customers about their experiences of moving to a prepayment meter (PPM) for gas and/or electricity supply. A PPM is where you pay for your gas or electricity before you use it by buying credit, usually with a key or smart card and adding this to your meter.
If you have moved to a PPM, or you know someone who has, and are happy to share experiences, Ofgem would love to hear from you.
The form should take around 10 minutes to complete and the survey closes on 4 May 2023.

Janusz Kowalski and Shaun Malloy from the Grounds Maintenance Team have received a compliment from a very grateful member of the public after the visitor had an Easter fiasco at Mote Park. Stepping in to save the day, Janusz and Shaun received this compliment:
Today I have had the worst day; my one-year old and nine-month old have been horrors all day and to top it all off, in the torrential rain, we got stuck in the mud at Mote Park.
Thankfully, Shaun and Janusz were nearby and were able to get me out of the mud. I honestly cannot thank them enough; they were absolute stars.
I know it’s not part of their job, but their kindness truly meant a lot to me. Please thank them and recognise their kindness.
