Are you 70 this year and live in Maidstone?
To celebrate her Majesty The Queen's Platinum Jubilee, 70 Maidstone residents who were born in 1952 are being invited to join the Maidstone Mayor for a special Afternoon Tea on Wednesday 1 June.
Queen Elizabeth II came to the throne in 1952 and is the longest serving British monarch. She celebrated her Silver Jubilee (25 years) in 1977, her Golden Jubilee (50 years) in 2002 and her Diamond Jubilee (60 years) in 2012.
70 residents of the borough who will celebrate their 70th birthday this year can apply for two free tickets (for them and a guest), to join us in commemorating. It will also be a magnificent way for them to celebrate their own 70th Birthday too.
Do you know anyone who would qualify? Why not encourage them to apply?
Successful applicants will be contacted by 1 May 2022. Tickets are limited, will be reserved in order of application and are subject to the main guest meeting the required criteria of being born in 1952 and also being a current resident of the borough of Maidstone, Kent.

Brand new Nature Trail along the River Medway
Maidstone Borough Council has worked with Maidstone River Park, Medway Valley Countryside Partnership and The Old Boat Cafe to create a fantastic nature trail along the River Medway between Allington and Teston.
It has been designed especially with families in mind and has 20 posts marking the trail, each with a zinc rubbing plate on the top and a small information plaque featuring special wildlife or habitats along the river, it also includes a QR code to provide more details.
Special packs have been produced for the first 1,000 users to enjoy the trail which are available at the Old Boat Café. Each pack contains a sketch book, stickers and wax crayons as well as a trail map to direct you to the posts.
Money from The Government and the European Regional Development Fund, as part of the ‘Welcome Back Fund’ have made it possible for The Council to carry out this work to make Maidstone more welcoming.
