 WHAT A DAY!
Ahead of the English National Badminton Championships in Manchester this weekend, Badminton England have officially launched Shuttle Stars, a new junior participation programme, designed to inspire 7-11-year-olds with a takeover of the Manchester Velodrome ahead of the English National Badminton Championships this weekend.
It was fantastic to see so many children playing the sport at such an iconic sporting venue.
Projects like Shuttle Stars are why we bring major events into the city. Delivering a vital part of the event’s legacy, aligning with our approach to get our children and young people more active in Manchester.
Learn more about Shuttle Stars via this link.
Huge thanks to Badminton England for putting on such a great event. Roll on the Championships this weekend.

Rugby icon Jonny Wilkinson, Ashes centurion Jacob Bethell and teenage darts sensation Luke Littler are among the sports stars throwing their support behind the Government’s ‘Team Up’ campaign, which launches today to tackle the male loneliness crisis.
With one in four boys and young men aged 11-24 saying they feel lonely at least some of the time, Team Up aims to show how sport can help them find safe, welcoming spaces to make friends, build support networks, and feel part of a community.
Manchester backs this.
We welcome the #TeamUp campaign and fully share its ambition to tackle isolation through the power of sport and community.
We’re investing in more local pitches, places and programmes so everyone has a team behind them.
