More of the Summer SEND Community Offer for families living in the Manchester City Council area
 PARENT GROUPS PARTNERSHIP - NEW!
Manchester Parent Carer Forum (MPCF) and Manchester Parent Champions have partnered together, along with SENsitive, RANI and Regen.me.uk, to offer a programme of free holiday activities for SEND families living across the Manchester Council area.
They include a BMX session, bowling, cinema, creative workshops and early years stay and play. Destinations include Greater Manchester Police Museum, Manchester Art Gallery, Manchester Jewish Museum, Museum of Illusions and the National Cycling Centre. There are also partnerships with Autism for the Arts, Martenscroft Children’s Centre and Z-Arts.

MUSEUM ONE: Manchester Museum Funday, Wednesday 13th August, 11am-3pm

A ride on the old heritage buses, learn about the history of transport in Manchester, and lunch on a tram. Lunch provided. Wythenshawe-based SENsitive is a supportive and welcoming group. They have SEND Summer Sessions on Tuesday mornings during the holidays at Crossacres Family Hub. Book through their Facebook group.

 Community Kitchen - NEW!
The Community Kitchen will be returning for summer with free sessions on Wednesdays 6th and 13th August, and Monday 18th August, 2.30-5.30pm. They’re for young people with SEND and/or social emotional and mental health needs (SEMH) to come with the family and cook (and eat!) together, learning about healthy food and cooking in an alfresco BBQ style. The menu is based on traditional Caribbean foods and drinks with ackee and saltfish, gunga peas and rice, BBQ chicken and Dutch pot lamb, steam fish and vegetarian/vegan options on the menu. All food and tuition provided. The venue is Procter Learning Centre, Hulme Street, Off Jackson Crescent M15 5EF. Please arrive on time. Parking available. The sessions are for SEND families living in the Manchester City Council area with ONE booking per family only. Booking essential - call Roger on 07970 922132.
Sensory rooms
Cheetham Hill
Manchester City Council SEND families can spend time for free in the Sensory Rooms at Redbank House, 4 St.Chad’s Street, Cheetham Hill, M8 8QA, this summer. There are slots available at various times between 9am-4pm (on the hour for 50 minutes) during weekdays from Wednesday 23rd July to Friday 29th August (except Monday 25th Bank Holiday). This includes the additional bigger room, bringing all the sensory equipment together with some soft play. Book directly with Redbank House on 0161 214 5959.
Wythenshawe - LOTS OF PLACES!
Families also have free use of the Sensory Room at Benchill Community Centre, Benchill Road, Wythenshawe, M22 8EJ, over summer. Each slot is for 45 minutes and on the hour. It's Wednesday 23rd July to Friday 29th August (except Monday 25th Bank Holiday). Drop in to the community centre or call 0161 946 9520 to book. For SEND families living in the Manchester City Council area. Please note: the sensory room does not currently have a waterbed.
Summer cycling
The free weekly cycling sessions for the city’s 11-16s with SEND or emotional and mental health needs continue over the holidays. They’re every Saturday 11am-3pm, meeting at the Procter Learning Centre, Hulme Street, Off Jackson Crescent M15 5EF. Bikes, helmets and other safety equipment are provided for cycle routes across Greater Manchester, along with regular bike maintenance sessions. All young people take part in a pre-ride induction before attending Saturday rides but need to be competent riders.  THE SPACE GROUP AND 4CT
Treetops
The SPACE Group and 4CT return to the tree tops this summer at Zip World, Heaton Park, M25 2QB with free activities for SEND families living in the Manchester City Council area:
Treetop nets - A huge space tied throughout the treetops with a range of trampolines, slides, ladders and more for children aged 3+. There are numerous dates throughout the holidays. Booking is by text and takes place in three waves: 6pm on Wednesday 16th July (passed), Wednesday 23rd July and Wednesday 6th August.

Treetop trek - High wire, ziplines, and climbing - mini trek is for 5+, full trek for 7+. Booking is by telephone on Wednesday 16th July at 10am. Lines will close at 7pm then reopen on Thursday 17th July at 10am until 3pm (passed).

Free inclusive swims for Manchester City Council SEND families at the Abraham Moss Leisure Centre, Crescent Road, Crumpsall, M8 5UF:
- Saturdays, 12-1pm OR 1-2pm: 26th July, 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd or 30th August
This overrides the usual booking system for the weekly swimming.
