Micro-grants available to fund events that challenge ageism
The Centre for Ageing Better have launched micro-grants for community groups and local voluntary sector organisations within Age-friendly Communities to take part in the Age Without Limits Day on 11 June 2025.
This year, the theme for the day is Celebrate Ageing. Challenge Ageism. They want to fund creative ways of marking the day that work for you and your community. Last year’s Age Without Limits Day saw fashion shows, podcast launches, volunteer awards, photography competitions and much more.
How much is available?
Grants of up to £500 are available, with an additional £150 to cover anything needed to make your event or activity more accessible.
Who is eligible for a micro-grant?
The grant is available to community groups and local voluntary sector organisations. To apply for these grants your area needs to be part of the UK Network of Age-friendly Communities. You can find out if your community is a member and therefore whether you are eligible to apply, on this map.
Groups may already have a specific focus on older people or might be using the action day as a new opportunity to engage with the issue of ageism and we encourage applications from both.
For more information on eligibility and assessment criteria please read the Information Document provided at the bottom of this webpage.
When is the deadline?
The deadline to apply for a micro-grant is 5pm on Monday 10 February 2025.
To apply for a micro-grant, please fill in the application form below and email it to grants@ageing-better.org.uk by the deadline.
Information Sessions
They will be hosting two information sessions to answer any questions you may have about the micro-grant opportunity and the Age Without Limits Day.
You can also email grants@ageing-better.org.uk with any questions.
If you are stuck for ideas, please read this blog which showcases previous events and activities hosted for the action day and visit our website for more information and examples of hosting an event.
