Lifeshare | Christmas support for rough sleepers
Lifeshare will be offering a seven-day indoor provision over the Christmas period for rough sleepers and those dealing with food insecurity and social isolation over the age of 18. This includes the provision of free Christmas meals and will run from December 23 to 29.
They also have drop-ins from various services including, barbers, hairdressers, opticians, doctors, and nurses as well as a representative from the cold weather team to make referrals if Manchester City Council offers cold weather accommodation. They have live entertainment including musical performers each day along with games, Christmas films, and creative expression workshops.

Every library in Manchester is a warm, safe and free space that residents of all ages can come in and stay warm all day in a positive environment with lots of resources. Here’s some of what’s available:
- Age friendly spaces
- Hot drinks – available from 21 October 2024 to February 2025. The self-service hot drinks are free, but if you are able to, please put some money in the donation box in the library.
- Comfortable seating and welcoming spaces for all ages.
- Free Internet.
- Free Wifi.
- Newspapers.
- Information and advice.
- Staff who can signpost to other support agencies.
- Digital drop-ins one day a week.
- Under 5s story times once a week at 11am. Ask your local library for more details.

Central Library
Escape from the shops and join the central library for a magical day of festive films. Suitable for families. It is a drop in event and there is no cost.

Brookdale Park Christmas Fair
Brookdale Park Annual Christmas Fair
Get into the festive swing of things – head to Brookdale Park for their annual Christmas Fair. Enjoy free arts and crafts, a climbing wall, face painting, a Santa’s grotto and much more. Everyone is welcome.
Children must be accompanied by an adults.

Christmas at Debdale Park
Christmas Workshop
Create your own Christmas decorations and gifts at a festive workshop in Debdale Park. There are two great workshops running at The Aviary Building in Debdale Park this December. Head to the an ‘Upcycling Session’ with the Sewing Group, where you’ll learn how to transform old materials into beautiful, unique gifts for your loved ones. Alternatively, at the ‘Woodworking Session’ with Men in Sheds, you’ll craft charming Christmas decorations with expert guidance and woodworking tools. Refreshments will be available throughout the event to keep your creative energy flowing. This is a freeevent!
Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian due to the use of machinery. Activities are suitable for all abilities and no previous experience is needed.
