Protect your health, time, money and plans
It’s that time of year when respiratory infections like flu are very common.
Even if you only have quite mild symptoms, flu can still make you feel very poorly, and will most likely mean that you’ll miss out on education and/or work. You could also miss out on meeting up with family and friends, for example at Christmas.
The flu vaccine is a safe and effective way to stop the spread and keep yourself and those around you healthy this winter.
For more information about the flu vaccine visit the NHS website.
Learner success: Levi's story
After an extremely difficult time at school during his youth, Levi developed something of a phobia about Maths. His persistent difficulties with his memory had a negative effect on his learning and these were not addressed or supported during his schooling.
Levi came to us in 2022 to study a maths course and was assessed by our Learning Support team for exam access arrangements where his difficulties were acknowledged and support was put in place.
Alongside his maths course, Levi also had one-to-one sessions, he says: "The extra lessons with Vin were really useful because it gave me time to clarify topics that I didn't understand the first time around in class." Levi was also shown how to make a 'maths memory' book to help with revision. "The memory book is fantastic, as I have all the key information and formulae noted down in one place".
Levi passed his Level 1 and Level 2 intensive maths course and has now progressed on to GCSE Maths. Levi said: "I enjoyed coming to my maths classes. My teacher Abdi was very patient, kind and helpful".
Vinay, our Learning Support Team Leader said: ‘’I am extremely proud of the hard work he has put in this year (both in class and at home). His drive and persistence to only do his absolute best has paid off. Best of luck with the GCSE Maths, Levi - you've got this!’’
