Manchester Local Offer Drop In
The Manchester College, Openshaw Campus
Wednesday 18th October, 10am-12pm
For our next Drop In, we'll be back for the second time in the Lecture Theatre at The Manchester College Openshaw Campus. It's on Wednesday 18th October, 10am-12pm. It is a large campus and can feel overwhelming, so staff have put together a map and some information to make us feel welcome.
Address
The Manchester College, Openshaw Campus, Ashton Old Road M11 2WH.
Getting there by public transport
These buses stop near the campus on Ashton Old Road – 219, 220, 221, 719, 725. The nearest tram stop is the Etihad Football stadium/Asda Etihad, with a 20 minute walk to the college.
Parking
The college has a car park near the main entrance, next to Whitworth Street and Clayton Lane South. It’s number 5 on the map. This will just be for us! It is a minute’s walk from the main entrance. It has disabled parking spaces and there are others in the car parks around the site – 1, 3 and 4 on the map. Taxis can drop off near the main entrance.
Signing in
Please go to the main entrance to the college. There will be a Local Offer sign-in space for us, with help on hand if needed.
Finding the Drop In
The Local Offer Drop In is being held in the Lecture Theatre. There will be people and signs to help direct you!
Who will be there?
One of the best things about the Drop Ins is the chance to talk to other parent carers. The Manchester Parent Carer Forum (MPCF) and Manchester Parent Champions will be there to offer support, along with parents from other groups.
We'll be joined by SEND services for children and young people up to 25. This includes SENDIASS for your education questions. If you are looking for stuff to do in the local area, there's Short Breaks staff. (Contact the team separately for Short Break Reviews.) Other services that regularly attend include Rodney House Outreach Service, Lifted Carers Centre, Equal Education Chances, the Caribbean & African Health Network (CAHN), About Me, and Phil Samphire, Travel Trainer. We usually have an Educational Psychologist from One Education offering slots.
Wednesday 15th November, Woodhouse Park Lifestyle Centre, Wythenshawe
Wednesday 13th December, Moss Side Powerhouse
