Zero Carbon Manchester: Plans charging ahead
Big plans are taking shape to increase the provision of electric vehicle charging points across the city. Plans are for hundreds of connectors to be installed within council owned car parks, plus those at parks, leisure centres, libraries and other facilities. This work will support the council's ambition to become a zero carbon city by 2038. It is estimated that by 2038, 75% of vehicles in Manchester will be electric. Read more online.

Withington Women FC: Treble trophy winners!
Did you know Withington has its own women’s football team? Launched by a group of volunteers in March, to mark International Women's Day, the team have already matched Pep by winning themselves a treble of trophies.
Withington sits on the pink Metrolink line so the club chose to use pink shirts as no one else in the league uses those colours. The kit is made with 100% recycled materials.
The club plays at Fog Lane Park, with games taking place at 2pm on Sundays. The location was chosen to emanate the historic Manchester Corinthians women’s team who also played at the park in the 1950s and '60s. So far they’ve taken on the likes of Bury, Salford and Rochdale.
They’re on the hunt for new players, if you want to know more or get in touch visit their website.

Balsam Bashing at Fletcher Moss Park!
Two corporate volunteering groups recently undertook some conservation management work at Fletcher Moss Park. 13 members of staff from Kaplan, and 9 apprenticeship students from CISCO, took part in Balsam Bashing this month. Himalayan Balsam, an invasive species, has really started to dominate the park, restricting the ability of native plants to grow and damaging biodiversity. The groups spent hours diligently pulling out hundreds of balsam by the roots!
