Manchester Local Offer Drop In
HideOut Youth Zone, Gorton - NEW VENUE!
Wednesday 24th May, 10am till 12.30pm
We have a new venue for our next Drop In! We'll be at the HideOut Youth Zone, on Wednesday 24th June, 10am-12.30pm.
Address
HideOut Youth Zone, 1 Queens Avenue, Gorton M12 5PX. It's the large grey building on the corner of Hyde Road, across from Buzz Bingo/Diamond Lodge and close to bus links.
Getting there by public transport
Buses stop on Hyde Road, 2 minutes walk away - Manchester/Stockport/Hyde, 202, 201, 203, 204.
Parking & drop off
The venue doesn't have a car park and disabled parking is limited. There is parking on the roads close to HideOut but please avoid parking there if you can, especially Queensland Road, unless it's for accessibility. Crossley Street is a few minutes' walk away and has plenty of on-road parking. There is also B&M's, a little further down Hyde Road, which has a large car park with no time limit. We had a chat with the manager and while B&Ms don't own the car park, it doesn't look like there's a problem with using it.
There is a large drop off space on Queensland Road, right next to HideOut.
Entering the building
Come through the automatic doors at the front of the building where you'll be let through the electronic barriers. You don't need to sign in. You'll see the Drop In straight ahead of you! The space is all ours!
Have a bite to eat
As usual, we'll be providing free hot drinks. If you fancy a bite to eat, the cafe will be offering hot meals at a subsidised rate (around £2) from 11.15am. You can stay until 1pm after the Drop In finishes at 12.30pm.

Who will be there?
One of the best things about the Drop Ins is the chance to talk to other parent carers. The Manchester Parent Carer Forum (MPCF) and Manchester Parent Champions will be there to offer support, along with parents from other groups.
We'll be joined by SEND services for children and young people up to 25. This includes SENDIASS for your education questions. If you are looking for stuff to do in the local area, there's Short Breaks staff. (Contact the team separately for Short Break Reviews.) Other services that regularly attend include Rodney House Outreach Service, Lifted Carers Centre, Equal Education Chances, the Caribbean & African Health Network (CAHN), About Me, and Phil Samphire, Travel Trainer. We usually have an Educational Psychologist from One Education offering slots.
