Manchester Parent Carer Forum (MPCF) have an Easter basket of free activities over the holidays for families living in the Manchester City Council area:
Power UP is at various times between 10-11am on Tuesday 11th April at the Science & Industry Museum. These are ‘private’ interactive gaming sessions, with lunch being served for children at 12 noon. Book through the Power UP link.
There’s an Early Years Family Fun Day on Wednesday 12th April, 10-11.30am at Martenscroft Children's Centre, 33 Epping Street, Hulme M15 6PA. There will be lots of fun things to do, including an Easter Egg Hunt! Book using the Fun Day link.
Thursday 13th April, 11am, sees a Relaxed Creative Session at Manchester Art Gallery, run by the fantastic Autism for the Arts team who do Open Doors. There will be arts and crafts activities for all children with SEND and their families, followed by lunch. Use the link to book.
There’s Relaxed Cinema at Cineworld Didsbury on Friday 14th April at 2-4pm - ‘Super Mario Bros’. Tickets include a snacks 'munchbox' and a bag of sensory toys to take home. Book through the cinema link.

Community Kitchen - Phone number updated!
The popular Community Kitchen is back for the Easter holidays! These free sessions are on Wednesday 12th and Friday 14th April, 3.30-6.30pm. They are for young people with SEND or who have social emotional and mental health needs (SEMH) to come with their families and cook (and eat!) together, learning about healthy food and healthy food cooking. All food and tuition provided. The Easter menu includes tender curried lamb, jerk chicken, mac’n’cheese and more. Also learn BBQ techniques with alfresco cooking on site. The sessions are for SEND families living in the Manchester City Council area and are at Procter Learning Centre, Hulme Street, Off Jackson Crescent M15 5EF. After the Easter holidays, there is Family Fun with Manchester Parent Champions on Saturday 22nd April 3-5pm at Whitemoss Youth and Community Centre, Charlestown Road, Blackley. Free Cycling - NEW!
MANCCYCLES and GMYN are offering an exciting opportunity for Manchester young people aged 11-16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs to take part in a weekly cycling project. Riding sessions are every Saturday 11am-3pm, meeting at the Procter Learning Centre, Hulme Street, Off Jackson Crescent M15 5EF. Bikes, helmets and other safety equipment are provided for cycle routes across Greater Manchester, along with regular bike maintenance sessions. All young people take part in a pre-ride induction before attending Saturday rides but need to be competent riders. The SPACE Group are organising activities over the Easter holidays for SEND families living in the Manchester City Council area. The best way to find out what’s happening is through The SPACE Group Facebook group.
Booking by text
Send a text at the specified time with the name of the event, your name (not the children’s), postcode, how many places required, ham or cheese lunch for the children, and any additional information that will be helpful for The SPACE Group to know. Everyone will get a response; it just might take a little time while they work their way through all the texts.

Sensory Rooms
Have fun in the Sensory Rooms at Redbank House in Cheetham Hill over Easter. Free slots are available at various times between 9am-4pm (on the hour for 50 minutes) during weekdays from Monday 3rd to Thursday 6th April, then Tuesday 11th to Friday 14th April, 10am-4pm. Families have free use of the Sensory Room at Benchill Community Centre in Wythenshawe over Easter. Each slot is for 45 minutes and on the hour. It’s Monday 3rd to Thursday 6th April, then Tuesday 11th to Friday 14th April, 10am-4pm. Call the community centre on 0161 946 9520 to book. Play Scheme At The Powerhouse
There is a Powerhouse & Partners Play Scheme each day from Tuesday 11th to Friday 14th April, 10.30-2.30pm at Moss Side Millennium Powerhouse, 140 Raby Street, Manchester M14 4SL. It will be four fun-filled days for children aged 6-12, including sports, dance, music, drama, games and crafts, plus the STEM bus on Friday, and a healthy lunch each day. (If your child has complex dietary requirements, you are asked to provide their lunch.) The play scheme is for all children, with extra resources for those with additional needs. Easter Forest School
SEND Family Forest School returns to Platt Fields Market Garden (off Mabfield Road, Fallowfield, M16 6LT) from Monday 3rd to Wednesday 5th April and Wednesday 12th to Friday 14th April, 10am-3pm drop-in with lunch around 12 noon. This free stay-and-play style activity for SEND families living in the Manchester City Council area, offers a warm welcome for all ages, including sensory play in the mud kitchen and sand pit, den building and seasonal nature crafts. It’s a drop in but please book with Manchester Bees Forest School using this form: https://forms.gle/aJiW5FkqaDa3gkWr6. Please assume you have a place. You’ll be contacted if you are on the waiting list. FLIP Open Day
There is an Open Day at Projekts skatepark near Piccadilly Station on Tuesday 11th April, 3-5pm. It’s for young with people with SEND aged 11-18 who live in the city of Manchester and is a chance to skateboard and make a bit of music with Billy and Andy - siblings can join in the fun too. There’ll be a free hot/cold drink and healthy snack for anyone taking part. Families are welcome to hang out in the cafe during the sessions or watch the skateboarders from the viewing balcony. You can drop in at any time but please email info@billyandandy.co.uk with a bit of information about the young person taking part, including name, age, contact details and any information that is important to know.
