Welcome to the March edition of our newsletter. With spring now upon us, we have lots of fantastic activities and events coming your way! Join us for Easter holiday crafts, Arabic Storytime, Family Film Club and more! If you have a Reading Rascal in your house, why not bring them along to our children’s Reading Group? We hope to see you soon!

Shakespeare Week
Join us for the following fun activities to celebrate Shakespeare Week.

French storytime
Join us for French Storytime on Saturday 25 March 2pm to 3pm at Manchester Central Library. We'll share stories in French and English plus easy crafts. Watch out, you might learn phrases and vocabulary whilst gesturing, chanting, and singing. Salut! Ca va? We can’t wait to meet you.

STEM Club
Join us for another fun STEM club at Forum Library. This time we are undertaking an engineering challenge - how strong and sturdy can you build a LEGO bridge? How much weight will it hold? This activity will be a fun, hands-on STEM session. Suitable for ages 8+. FREE and open to all!

Reading Rascals
We run a monthly Children's Reading Group at Central Library for 7-12 year olds. We talk about books, have an activity and gift free books.
This month we are celebrating Shakespeare with a quiz and water colour art. If you would like to join us, please contact mona.pasha@manchester.gov.uk to book a place.

Mother Language Day Booklist
In honour of International Mother Language Day, the Reading Agency has created a booklist of some terrific, translated books for children and young people to enjoy. Each book been translated from their original language or are available in translation. From picture books to poetry to graphic novels, there is something for young readers of all ages from across the globe.

Lego Club
Do you love Lego? Come along to Central Library on Saturday 8 April, 2pm - 4pm and join the Lego Club - let your imagination run free! You can also pop into your local library to find out when their Lego Club is on and get creative there too!

Family Film Clubs
Kick back and chill with a fantastic film in the library! No need to be at home bored when you can pop into your local library with your friends and family to watch a great film and it's FREE! Easter Holiday Crafts
We've got Easter bunnies, eggs, chicks and spring flowers popping up all around in your local library. Why not join our relaxed craft sessions for children and families and make something fun and fluffy to take home this Easter holiday? Activities are free and suitable for children aged 5 - 11 years. Manchester Central Library Development Trust Trustee recruitment
Manchester Central Library Development Trust - the charity that supports cultural and educational activity in Manchester Libraries - is looking for new Trustees to join their Board. They are interested in hearing from people with a broad range of skills and experience and are keen to diversify the current Board. Trustees need to be over 18. National Football Museum
Join the National Football Museum for their daily creative workshops; including LEGO Football Trophy building, crafty-collage sessions where visitors will produce their own Easter egg sculptures inspired by our collection and speed-drawing challenges with prizes aplenty! 10.30am to 3.30pm with FREE entry for Manchester residents. 1 - 16 April.
