The ODS system code on the Manchester EMIS application is being changed to help the Trust towards its integrated electronic patient record (EPR) approach. It is also a step towards single sign on capabilities in the near future.
What this means for users:
-
From 6:00pm on Wednesday 23 November there will be no Spine access via EMIS. However, the EMIS application will still work when you use your username and password to log on. Smartcards can not be used whilst the code change is taking place.
- The code will be changed overnight.
-
From 9:30am on the Thursday 24 November you will be able to re-sync your smartcard to gain Spine access again. See guide [PDF, 223KB] for help.
What do I need to do now?
Ahead of the code change, we ask users to:
- Refrain from adding any new patient referrals to EMIS until your Smartcard has been re-synced after 9:30am on Thursday 24 November. If it is clinically critical that you need to add new patient referrals to EMIS whilst the ODS is offline, please ensure that you keep a local record of these and that these are synced to the spine as soon as the ODS is back online.
-
Ensure you know your username and password BEFORE Wednesday 23 November. If you do not know these details, then please follow this guidance [PDF, 223KB] to learn how they can be reset.
Note: If you require Spine access during the downtime, you can access the Spine via the main portal on the MFT Desktop (icon for Spine pictured top right).
