Free financial well-being seminar with James Kelly
As part of our ongoing cost-of-living support we are offering a free webinar with James Kelly from the Money and Pensions Service (MaPS) 27 October 2022 12.30-1.30pm on Microsoft Teams. James will discuss financial wellbeing and making the most of your money, sharing several helpful financial tools and resources as part of the upcoming Talk Money Week in November. Moving Traffic Offences consultation
We caught up with Highways last week at their public consultation event at Central Library. Warren Roper Traffic and Road Safety Manager and Tina Glover from Project Centre design consultants were on hand to support the public with a questionnaire. After a two-week camera survey on fifteen locations causing the most problems the team have selected seven initial locations for the moving traffic consultation and are asking the public if they agree. You can have your say by visiting the website until 27 October when the consultation closes.

For this spooky season the Paranormal Rescue Team will be putting together a FREE Halloween-Themed Mass Participation Guinness World Record Attempt to Assemble! Congratulations Jenni!
Jenni McAndrew, Central Area Park Lead, is celebrating reaching the final of the prestigious APSE Awards as Apprentice of the Year. Jenni's role involves leading the Central Area Parks team from a day-to-day operational point of view and working to deliver the Council's Park Strategy. She helps her team give a voice to residents, working towards delivering shared goals, providing clean, green, and safe open spaces. We are delighted to announce that following a rigorous selection process, Jenni has been selected as a finalist in the Association of Public Service Excellence (APSE) Awards 2022 with winners announced at an Award presentation evening on 19 October. Jenni feels very lucky to be able to say with confidence that she loves her job and that she is proud to work within the parks and green spaces in Manchester. Congratulations to Jenni for this amazing achievement!

White Ribbon Learning Lunch success
The White Ribbon Learning Lunch, delivered by Candida Wallis and Ian Halliday from Community Safety, was an opportunity for staff to learn more about the White Ribbon charity. Earlier this year Manchester City Council received accreditation from the charity whose mission is for all men to fulfil the White Ribbon Promise to never commit, excuse or remain silent about male violence against women.
