 Trial pedestrianisation launched in Cutting Room Square
The Council has launched a six-month trial to pedestrianise one of the busiest and most popular neighbourhoods in the city centre.
For the next six months the roads around Cutting Room Square will be closed to traffic, with views being sought on how the public feel about these changes.

CYCLOPS junction construction begins
The latest stage of the Manchester to Chorlton Cycle Way has begun construction. A CYCLOPS junction, at the Brooks Bar junction in Whalley Range is expected to be in operation by spring 2023.
This programme will improve walking and cycling links to the city centre from South Manchester as well as improve safety for road users.
There will be some disruption during the works, with more information about changes to the road layout found here.

Latest round of grant funding to launch
A scheme to provide grants to the community and voluntary sector is to launch in the first week of September.
The Our Manchester Voluntary and Community Sector (OMVCS) Grants Programme will launch on September 1, offering up ways to support local organisations who have a track record of delivering services which benefit Mancunians.
