South Asian Heritage Month event
South Asian Heritage Month happens each year from 17 July – 16 August. We’re celebrating with summer reading challenge events. The Council’s celebrations culminate at Central Library on Tuesday 16 August 1-4. Join us at this free event for performances and speeches, with food being provided.

Manchester Central Library is one of only 3 places in the country where the 1921 Census can be searched for free. The Census has been available since January and is invaluable for people interested in researching their family history. Search the Census for free via www.findmypast.co.uk on any of the PCs at Central Library. If you want help, the Manchester and Lancashire Family History Society Helpdesk is open in the library from Mon-Friday 10.30-3.30.

LGBT Foundation Open Archives Community Event
Drop in to Manchester Central Library this Pride week, to discover some of the rich history of Manchester's LGBTQ+ Community with items specially selected from the LGBT Foundation Archive at Archives+.
