Royal Assent of Health and Care Act 2022
The Health and Care Act 2022 has completed the parliamentary process and received Royal Assent.
This is a welcome and important step on the journey towards establishing Integrated Care Systems on a statutory footing, which will take place on Friday 1 July 2022 as communicated in the NHS 2022/23 priorities and operational planning guidance, and enabling more collaborative ways of working across the health and care system.
This next phase of system development continues and builds on the evolution of local partnerships and collaborative ways of working over several years, with the first ICSs created in 2018, emerging from Sustainability and Transformation Partnerships. The vision for greater integration was laid out in the Five Year Forward View and further cemented by the NHS Long Term Plan in 2019.

Team photos for the celebration event
|
As part of the celebrations, we are collecting photos of teams across MHCC. These can be from a team night-out, volunteering activity, or from any formal or informal event by MHCC in the past few years.
To send a recent photo of the team, you can use any of the following methods:.
- Screenshot during a Teams call (quick lesson here) and upload on ERNIE.
- Upload individual photos of team members on ERNIE. It would work best if someone from the team volunteered, so there's a single point of contact.
- A photo session with the whole team in Parkway 3. Email the Communications team to discuss availability of photographer this week.
