Celebrating Young Carers In The City |
|
Young Carers Action Day was on the 16th March with the theme of ‘Taking Action on Isolation’. Manchester City Council brought together around 60 of the city's young carers for a celebration at Moss Side Powerhouse. Young carers make amazing contributions to their loved ones and communities. The event marked the first public screening of a new music video with a song by Manchester-based musician Aleya Mae Warden. The lyrics and storyline were co-produced with young carers and they star in the story. ‘Support Not Sympathy’ follows one young carer, showing how hard her daily life can be, and how a bit of support can go a long, long way to making things easier. If you have a young carer in your family and would like to find out more, see the Manchester City Council website.
