Despite the fresh challenges of COVID-19 and the winter months, we must not lose sight of the incredible things that you and your colleagues have achieved over the past 12 months. It is important that we take the time to reflect, and acknowledge and celebrate our diversity, talent and commitment to making a difference.
The awards are our annual celebration of all the amazing things you have done throughout the year. It is our opportunity to recognise the fantastic contributions Council staff have made to our services and the people of Manchester.
You can start nominating from today, Wednesday 15 December, until nominations close on Friday 28 January.
There is no limit on nominations, so go for it. So many of our colleagues have earned this special recognition. Who’s inspired you to be your best, who shows their pride to work for Manchester in what they do, and ultimately, we want to make sure that this talent, hard work and commitment doesn’t go unnoticed.
There is a category for each award and you can find out more about each one and how to nominate on the intranet.
Our 2020/21 awards programme, Celebrating Excellence, was unlike anything we’d ever done before, having taken the awards virtual for the very first time! What didn’t change though was the level of pride and admiration we saw in the nominations received, and the sheer number of colleagues nominated was incredible to see.
This year I’m sure there will be even more nominations as teams have come together stronger than ever, in lots of different ways, to overcome challenges and help deliver our priorities, which are keeping us on track to achieve the Our Manchester vision.
Staff with network access can nominate online via the intranet. Managers are asked to support staff without internet access to nominate using a paper nomination form, or to support them to access the intranet on their own device. It’s so important that everyone has a chance to nominate.
Do something wonderful for a colleague or team and nominate them for one of the many awards. I know I will.
