Dia de Muertos (Day of the Dead) Celebration
Central Library, Saturday 6 November, 1-4pm
Come and join us in a unique and special ancient Mexican celebration Dia de Muertos (Day of the Dead). In Mexican culture it is believed that during this time of the year your lost loved ones come back to visit. Family and friends gather together to honour their relatives and friends by cooking their favourite dishes, dancing, playing music, and telling their favourite stories. Families visit their loved ones graves and create elaborate beautiful decorated altars in their homes to welcome them. This is all a part of celebrating the cycle of life.

Wythenshawe Park Story Trail
A fantastic new and interactive Walk and Talk Trail is coming soon to Wythenshawe Park. Helping us to bring this to life are local illustrator Ian Morris and author Gabby Dawnay who wrote and illustrated The Library Book.
Based on characters from the book, families will walk the trail and find the literacy clues. At the end of the trail, families will find a Little Free Library where they can pick up a free book to take home.
The trail will launch on the first Monday of half term (25 October) – see our blog for the story behind the trail
