Archives+ Young People's Project
A new project gives the city’s 11-25 year olds a chance to create a record of life during lockdown. ‘On This Day Last Year’ is aimed at children and young people with additional needs, care leavers, children in care, young carers and home educated young people. Everyone taking part will receive a free art pack and meet in small groups (online for now) for 1 or 2 sessions. The workshops will give young people the opportunity to voice their feelings about their experience during lockdown, then express these through a creative piece of their choice (eg artwork, poetry, creative writing or photography) to create a display in Central Library.
To book on or find out more, email siobhan.o'connor@manchester.gov.uk

Young Adult e-books and audio books
The Maze Runner by James Dashner/narrated by Mark Deakins (Young Adult Title suitable for 13+)
The only thing Thomas remembers is his first name. But he's not alone. He's surrounded by boys who welcome him to the Glade - a walled encampment at the centre of a bizarre and terrible stone maze. They don't know why or how they came to be there - or what's happened to the world outside. All they know is that every morning when the walls slide back, they will risk everything - even the Grievers, half-machine, half-animal horror that patrol its corridors, to try and find out.
Bestselling authors and titles available now on BorrowBox.

But what good is all this stuff when Andy and Terry are trying to write their fastest book ever? You'll have to read it to find out!
